Welcome to Hogwarts..

This is another lengthy work in progress..simply because I kept changing my mind on the layout of the castle! There are so many different castle layouts depending on which film you base it on. For example, the towers move positions - the Astronomy Tower doesn't even exist before the Half Blood Prince and the Viaduct is twice as long in the Deathly Hallows than it was in the Goblet of Fire!

I ultimately decided to base my design on the architectural drawings as found in the book "Harry Potter Page to Screen - The Complete Filmmaking Journey". The drawings are reproductions of the set designs for the Half Blood Prince and my crochet buildings are only a tiny bit off the 1/32 scale used for the models in the film.

As I said, this is a work in progress, I haven't yet decided whether I will add the clock towers or viaduct yet as it's quite large already. I've started working on the decorative elements - it will be themed around Christmas so expect lots of tiny wreaths and of course, there will be sparkle!
