Spring is around the corner!

It's been miserably grey and wet for weeks now, so I decided that it was time to start work on adding a little colour to my front room.

I started out with a blank poly foam wreath that I wrapped some green wool around...

Then I started putting together some spring flowers to add to the wreath.

I didn't have the right shade of blue that I wanted for the bluebells, so crocheted the flower heads in white and then mixed together a couple of shades of blue and lavender water colour and simply painted the yarn.

It turned out better than I expected, so I did the same for the pansies too.

I want the wreath to be packed with pastel flowers and leaves, with perhaps some dainty butterflies flitting among the petals... so stayed tuned to see the progress!
