Creating my own Platform 9 3/4

I caught a video on YouTube where someone was unboxing a Harry Potter resin kit from SophieandToffee. I immediately dashed over to their website and was thrilled to find the kit still in stock (the video was quite old). Hopes were immediately dashed when I saw the combined price for the kit and shipping was well out of my price range.
I then started thinking about how I could try and get the same results but for a more reasonable price. Amazon to the rescue!
Here's what the platform looks like so far...

I ordered a model railway plastic trolley...I went for OO gauge but it turned out to be far too small. I was already building a 'Magic Wand' shop that came with a wooden trolley so before assembling that one, I drew a template of the separate parts and then made it slightly smaller when cutting it out of air dry clay.
I used ResinCrete to mould the components, and then used UV resin in yellow to create the wall light, that I will add black acrylic marker around the outside so that it looks like the lamp is lit up.
I also bought a tiny owl mould from eBay, it's a flat back mould so it will look like Hedwig coming into land. My plan, rather than making it into a book nook as pictured above, is to use a light up dome (fabulous find in the Valentine's section of Poundland, it had a red rose in the middle that I just removed), and then have the platform set on a circular piece of clay in the centre.
I'll post more pictures once I have it all glued in place!
