A few weeks ago, I was browsing the internet looking for a pattern that would use up the extra ball of wool that I'd ordered by mistake, when I found a fabulous looking image of Dougal the Demiguise - the long haired creature from 'Fantastic Beasts' that can look into the future and disappear into thin air. It is rumoured that Harry Potter's famous Cloak of Invisibility is made from thousands of Demiguise hairs woven together.
I found the pattern on Etsy from the seller 'Soph's Craft Stuff'. It's a crochet pattern that was actually quite simple to follow once I got the hang of making the new stitches. Dougal's
long fur is made from the crochet loop stitch, where the loops are formed and then each one cut and brushed out to make the 'fur' thick and soft.

The finished Dougal is so soft and fluffy that you can't help but want to keep touching it!
